Hopefully, the 2009 fall girls tennis season was a success for those of you involved with the girls. The state tournament weather left a little to be desired, but, thanks to the tireless efforts of the IHSA and tournament staff, draws containing 384 players were able to be completed during three terrible days of weather. Congratulations to all who qualified for the state meet.
The fall newsletter, which was e-mailed to our members a few weeks ago, is now available on the web-site for those with password access.
If you have any questions for anyone on our board or would like to make a suggestion as to how our association can better serve its membership, please do not hesitate to contact me.
I sincerely hope to see all of you at the IHSTCA winter conference at the Lincolnshire Marriott on January 22-23, 2010.

Greetings. Hopefully, many of you have received the spring 2009 newsletter as well as a document I wrote on class expansion. If you have NOT, please e-mail me at kwillard@schools.mtco.com. The newsletter is viewable on this web-site if you are able to log in with your id and password. I hope your seasons are going well. Good luck as we approach conference tournament and sectional and state time.
Remember to mark your calendars for June 11 and June 12 if there is any possibility your team will qualify for the IHSTCA Team State Tournament.

Spring Update
Welcome to Spring in Illinois!! Today (March 16, 2009) marks the first day of competition for boys tennis. I hope those of you who coach boys tennis have a great start to your season.
The spring IHSTCA newsletter will be e-mailed to current members and placed on this website around April 1 (for those who have password access).
We are continuing to work with our web master to grant all current members access to the coaches directory on this site with a password. It is my goal to make sure every member has a password and is able to access the directory by the end of April.
Two quick reminders:
Sectional pig-tail matches this spring will again count as two points as they did in the past. The experiment during the girls season of not counting pig-tail matches has been immediately discontinued.
The #3, #4, #5, and #6 seeds will be "coin-flipped" into the sectional draws as they were prior to the last few years. If you have any questions on how this is accomplished, please feel free to e-mail me at kwillard@schools.mtco.com
As always, feel free to contact any board member with any question or comment you may have.
